With the holidays coming up and more people purchasing online, this could be a real problem. A virus circulating is the UPS/Fed Ex/USPS Delivery  Failure. You will receive an e-mail from UPS, Fed Ex, or USPS along with a packet number. It will say that they were  unable to deliver a package sent to you on such-and-such a date. It  then asks you to print out the invoice copy attached.  DON'T TRY TO PRINT THIS. IT LAUNCHES THE VIRUS!

A question/answer session followed.
Members who have updated their Win8 computers to Win 8.1 are irritated by the need to sign in at start up. There is a work-around fix. More to follow on his later.

A long discussion of Word formats ensued.  Word and Open Office generated many  document formats - doc docx wps and 50 more.
Open-Office also handles these formats. Usually documents can be opened interchangeably by these 2 programs.  Open Office is a freebie. (See ref. to Open Office at page top.)
